Content from Flickr comes from many varied places, notably the general public. But recently several important public institutions have been taking advantage of Flickr's services and posting their images to the Flickr Commons. Sample contributors include: New York Public Library; Library of Congress; Field Museum; National Library of New Zealand; Getty Research Institute; Smithsonian Institution; National media Museum.
Working with Search Results
Search results in LUNA are displayed as a page(s) of thumbnails. The thumbnails are displayed according to your viewing preferences. To add these search results to your Active Media Group or the LUNA Workspace roll over the thumbnail until you see the corresponding icons in the upper right and left hand corner. And as with other views in LUNA, you can use the Share This and Embed This tool to share these search results with others or embed them into another application.
Narrow Search
Use the faceted searching box on the left to continue narrowing your search results.
Sort 
Use the Sort option to re-sort your search results by up to four fields. This feature only works with one collection at a time.
Printer Friendly
The Printer Friendly button prints your search results thumbnails and thumbnail data.
Narrowing Your Search Results
Use the Who, What, When, Where category values to continue refining your search. The number of results for each value are presented alongside the term in parentheses. This Narrow Search option is available throughout LUNA, on the Browse All page, and search results page.
Minimize or Expand the Narrow Search panel on the left any time by clicking the small icon next to the “Narrow Search” tab.
The “Show More” icon will expand each Who, What, When, Where category to give you even more choices for narrowing your search. Use the “Show Less” feature to contract the list.
Once you have selected a value to narrow your search by, you can continue to filter your search by selecting additional values.
You can easily remove one of these values by clicking on it under the “Remove” header.
