Think of LUNA as not just page after page of thumbnails, but as a dynamic space for working with digital content.

Simple Keyword searching is a common way to search for content. Advanced Search can help you find specific items within certain parameters. But what if you don't know what to search for? How can you enter a keyword if you don't have one?

Try LUNA's Browse Categories feature. Browse Categories presents all the data of a collection in 4 categories: Who, What, When, and Where. Facets are also presented, so you'll immediately know what kind of content is in a collection.

Users can view individual images in the Detail View, or multiple images in the LUNA Workspace. And of course there's still the ability to browse through pages of thumbnails, but now you can customize your view selecting the number of thumbnails per page and their size.

And if you choose to go full screen and eliminate your browser's navigation tools, use the forward and back feature on virtually every page of LUNA:

  • Accompanying the larger sized image is the full catalog data, or Media Information, for that media.

  • To view more of the Media Information on your screen without using your scroll bar, you can expand the the Media Information tab.

  • To completely hide the Media Information tab simply click on the Minimize icon.

...

  •  Display annotations: indicates how many annotations are on an image, click on it to hide or show the annotations. If there are no annotations to an image, you won't see this icon.

  •  Add Annotation: when logged in you'll be able to add annotations to an image. Annotations can be saved at a collection level for all to see (if given permission by administrator), privately so only you will see them when viewing the image in the Detail View or LUNA Workspace, or to a Media Group in order to share the annotation with others.

  •   Show/Hide Thumbnail Panner: allows you to control which section of a zoomed-in image you see. Drag the grayed-out zoomed area around the thumbnail to see that zoomed section, or simply pan in the image itself.

Image Modified

  •   Maximize Image: maximizes the image to fit your screen.

  •  Zooming: zooming in and out on an image can be done by clicking on the “+” or “-“symbol, using the scroll wheel on your mouse, or by dragging the zoom bar left or right.

BookReader Objects

  •  The Full View will open the BookReader object with the pages of the book presented in a vertical thumbnail panel. The thumbnail panel lets you quickly jump to any page of the book, and add any page to your Active Media Group.

...

  •   Play and pause the automatic turning of pages.
